Thompson Rivers University – Foundation Gala

Since 2014, Thompson Rivers University and GK Sound have worked together to create the extravagant Foundation Gala, an annual fundraiser for TRU and its students. With themes ranging from Once Upon A Time, Indiana Jones’ Temple of Doom, and Adventure On The High Seas, our team always has a blast creating a fantasy world for guests to live in for one night only! The 2020 Foundation Gala - a Back To The Future-themed evening entitled A Walk Through Time - raised over $120,000 for future Thompson Rivers University students.

Custom set design, custom video and audio production, and custom lighting design all play a part in this event, and it gives the GK Sound team the opportunity to flex their creative minds and create a one-of-a-kind setup. Coupled with cutting edge audiovisual equipment, this event always leaves guests and our client in awe.

BrewLoops Festival

BrewLoops Festival is Kamloops’ premier beer and cider trade show, showcasing some of BC’s greatest breweries and hosting entertainment for the entire family for the last 6 years. BrewLoops has everything from brunch, Farmers Market tastings, large tail-gate music shows, high-end cask/food pairings, education sessions, bike tours, and boutique socials to be close to the brewers who brew the beer and cider you love. Funds from this event are divided among the event committee (to allow future events to continue to happen), Western Canada Theatre, and the largest Kamloops Rotary Club. Over $100,000 has been driven back into our community through this event, and GK Sound is grateful to be a member of the team!

Hosting two trade shows a year, GK Sound provides an extensive production for this event, including tents, heating, large-scale power distribution, and full audio rigs. We also design custom staging and lighting for the multiple talent stages spread across the event property.

Kamloops Art Gallery – Luminocity 

Luminocity is a free, biennial video art exhibit that spans over a week, spread out through our city’s hub. It showcases video projects by local, national and international artists, in unexpected public spaces throughout the downtown core of Kamloops. It strives to bring art to unknown places, encourages art-goers - old and new - to engage in an outdoor immersive art experience, and gives a multi-dimensional meaning to what a “gallery” can be. From window installations to rooftop projection shows, Luminocity brings light and life to our downtown and allows locals to explore Kamloops in a new way.

The Kamloops Art Gallery looks to GK Sound to provide the support and expertise in terms of audio, video, projection, & lighting equipment for their spectacular showcase.
